This weekend, I will be going without food for 30 hours to raise money so others can eat — and I hope to raise at least $480 to take care of a child for one whole year!
Here’s what I can expect from the Famine experience: We’ll sleep on the floor; we'll be sustained only by clear liquids and broth; we’ll learn from a special guest who will lead us in discovering more fully who we are, and what it means to be connected to children who are barely surviving halfway around the world; we'll scavenge house-to-house for a San Francisco homeless outreach group, and MORE!
1 in every 9 people in the world do not have enough to eat.
98% of these people live in developing countries. Some live at the mercy of hunger crises, like the one that struck East Africa. Others have been forced from their homes, scraping by with what they can find. Still more find themselves caught in an endless cycle of poverty and hunger.
But when we come together, there's hope. Hunger has decreased by 20% in the past 25 years, thanks to people like you. It may be retreating to some of the hardest places, but it's still on the run. So let's keep on chasing.
Just $40 will help feed and care for a child for a month! All you have to do is click one of the orange buttons below to give your gift, and your gift is tax-deductible.
WHO ARE YOU GIVING YOUR MONEY TO? AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, ARE THEY AWESOME?
