1 in every 9 people in the world do not have enough to eat.
98% of these people live in developing countries. Some live at the mercy of hunger crises like the one that struck East Africa in recent years. Others have been forced from their homes, scraping by with that they can find. Still, more find themselves caught in a cycle of poverty and hunger, neither of which are escapable.
But when we come together, there's hope. Hunger has decreased by 20% in the past 25 years, thanks in large part to donors. It may be retreating to some of the hardest paces, but it's still on the run. So let's keep on chasing it.
I will be attending world vision's 30 Hour Famine and will be going without food for 30 hours - in the hope that another person won't have to be going through something worse. Each participant in this program is raising funds to fight hunger, which will be used directly to provide food to those in need of this basic human necessity.
Any and all donations, small and large, count and help to relieve the hunger of someone in malnourished regions. To put it into perspective, it only takes $40 to feed and care for a child for a month! All you have to do is click on the orange Support Me button to give your gift! Your gift is tax-deductible.
